| What is Shark Diving? |
Absolute
Adventures' company philosophy is to introduce adventure seekers to exciting
destinations less travelled. Isla Guadalupe and Honduras are
just two examples of this commitment. Recent discoveries include large
concentrations of Tiger Sharks, and Great Hammerheads in the Gulf of Mexico.
Plus our all new Shark Diver Lodge in Honduras-home to the last great
population of Whale Sharks left on the planet.
Shark diving allows shark enthusiasts, and
researchers from around the world an easy way to observe the extraordinary
world of Great White Sharks, Whale Sharks and more. Shark cages create
a discernable barrier that our sharks quickly recognize allowing us to
safely observe and experience these incredible animals up close
and personal. Whale Shark diving requires no cages at all. Safety is our
highest priority, for both divers and our sharks.
Shark diving is unique in the fact that the rewards often far exceed the
effort both physically and mentally. Not to say that shark diving is not
challenging, getting in the water with up to seven Great Whites, or one
35 foot Whale Shark is very challenging and very exciting to say the least!
Shark diving with us requires less equipment to bring along, and only
minimal equipment is needed to dive in our cages. For instance we use
surface supplied air at Isla Guadalupe, thus no tank is required
to be worn in the cage or while climbing in and out of the water leaving
more room in the cage. We also provide regulators and weights. Our shark
diving crews are industry professionals who care about your safety and
enjoyment. In the world of cage diving with Great Whites you can
either go where everyone has been before, or discover a newer and better
world. Let us introduce you to the White Sharks of Isla
Guadalupe and our all new Shark Diver Lodge for Whale
Sharks in Honduras. It will change the way you think of adventure.
Forever!
Note: We have overseen the constructon of two brand new cages
for our 2005 season, and would like to introduce the MV Islander to you,
our latest boat in the Shark Diver fleet. With the addition of
the Ocean Reef System (underwater communication
video link) our cages are designed and built to maximize safety and comfort
for our divers. These four-man shark cages are constructed using high-grade
materials and a state of the art fabrication processes. Our cages are
an excellent underwater platform for viewing and photographing Great White
Sharks. You will enjoy total freedom of movement and 360 degree panoramic
views. Ready to go yet, it's a wild adventure out there!
